A NUT ABOVE THE REST

OUR NEW PEANUT BUTTER MADE WITH HI-OLEIC PEANUTS EVEN MORE NUTRITIOUS - JUST AS DELICIOUS!

The super peanut has landed. We have tracked down a special kind of hi-oleic variety of peanut only found in a handful of places on the planet (including Argentina and Australia), to bring you a peanut butter packed full of the kind of good-fats your body will thank you for.

Grown in exactly the same way as standard peanuts and with all the natural protein, fibre, vitamins, minerals and scrummy taste, these little fellas have the added bonus of higher-than-usual levels (that’s the ‘hi’ bit) of monounsaturated fats (that’s the ‘oleic’ bit), which help support normal cholesterol levels.

It’s the very same ‘good’ fat that makes the Mediterranean diet so heart healthy. In fact, hi-oleic peanuts contain around 30% more monounsaturated fats than standard peanuts, putting them right up there with olive oil and avocados.

We guarantee that every jar of delicious hi-oleic peanut butter is packed with at least 70% good fat.A healthy lifestyle never tasted so crunchily scrummy.

SOME QUESTIONS YOU MAY WANT TO ASK

Why don't you use Hi-oleic peanuts in all your peanut butters?

These special peanuts are only available in a handful of places. Our current range of peanut butter does contain good levels of mono unsaturated fats, however we do not frequently test it. For our new hi-oleic peanut butter we carefully select only hi-oleic peanuts which are very high in monounsaturated fats. This means carrying our regular checks so we can absolutely guarantee that the final product has at least 30% more monounsaturated fats. We are though encouraging growers to grow more hi oleic peanuts to improve worldwide availability.

Are hi-oleic peanuts grown differently to standard peanuts?

Hi-oleic peanuts are grown in exactly the same way as standard peanuts.

What are monounsaturated fats??

Monounsaturated fats (MUFAs) are regarded as good fats and help reduce cholesterol. Common sources of MUFAs are olive oil, avocadoes and nuts.

MUFAS tend to remain stable in food products for longer periods and are a natural and healthy alternative to the “bad fats”, such as saturated fats and trans fats which you may find in many processed foods

What are the dietary benefits of eating unsaturated fats?

There are numerous dietary studies which prove the benefits of replacing saturated (bad) fats with unsaturated (good) fats. The main benefit is the reduction of risk of stroke and cardiovascular disease.

The Mediterranean diet is widely regarded as healthy due in part to the high level of consumption of monounsaturated fats present in foods like olive oil and avocados.

How do saturated (bad) and unsaturated (good) fats influence cholesterol?

Fats found in animal fats and some plant sources influence the levels and type of cholesterol formed in the body. Saturated fats tend to raise blood cholesterol and promote the creation of “bad” low density cholesterol. Unsaturated fats on the other hand do not raise cholesterol quite as much and tend to form healthier “good” / high density cholesterol.
